Will lowering the sump pump piping increase sound control?

Sump pump tubing runs under a bedroom and we can hear the water rushing through and the general vibration of the pump. Someone suggested having the piping lowered to midway between the basement floor and the ceiling to decrease the sound. Would you think this would cause a significant decrease in sound or am I wasting money to change this?
