How do u make ur hair not go wild after u shower?

i dont like blow drying because it produces split ends, but every time i shower my straight but a little wavy hair goes completely fluffy and frizzy, and it looks like a broom. i have normal hair, i think ill call it dry in winterm but not too dry..any tips??? as well as any shampoo and conditioners that wil suit me best, or after shower cream....i really suck at these stuff so any advice be appreciated
